Comfort Management

PREVENT + TREAT

Comfort Management in Colorado Springs

Comfort is a high priority for our clients at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness. Client care and comfort is our utmost priority. Therefore, we offer a multitude of options for comfort management.

Many of our client's find our distraction techniques to be very effective for most of our aesthetic procedures.  Distraction techniques include vibration devices, fans, ice packs and cooled air devices.

We also use strong topical numbing creams as well as injectable numbing medication for many injectable and resurfacing procedures. Our highly skilled clinical director has an extensive background and specialty in facial anatomy and anesthetics.

We also administer oral pain medication as an additional comfort management option that dissipates after your treatment and is safe for driving post procedure.

During facial injections, our advanced aesthetic providers will offer a facial vibrator which is a battery powered hand held tool that vibrates as you hold it against your face. Your brain and central nervous system can only interpret so much sensory information at any one time, to minimize the perception of pain caused by injections.

During advanced layered laser and radiofrequency microneedling procedures, we utilize a cold air cryotherapy device called a Zimmer®. To target a concentrated stream of very cold air, pointed to where you need a little extra relief. The cold air essentially numbs the treated area and is a very effective tool for comfort management for a lot of our procedures. Our clients absolutely love the cold air Zimmer® and have given our advanced laser safety officers great feedback regarding its effectiveness.

pro-nox
STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

Pro-nox® Pain Relief

Pro-Nox™ is an FDA cleared is an analgesia using a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen for rapid onset anxiety relief. This is a simple breathing circuit that delivers nitrous oxide and oxygen through a tube for inhalation. Much like one would experience at a dental office.

The pain medication we use wears off shortly after your procedure time. Most people can drive home immediately following their scheduled procedure time. For those who need a little extra time to recover, we make sure you are comfortable and offer you refreshments as you have a short recovery.
Any substance of medication there can be associated risks. One of the more common risks with this combination is nausea. Therefore we recommend having a light meal prior to your treatments and stay well hydrated. We also administer an
anti-nausea medication with our comfort management protocol.

Our comfort management systems are temporary and effective, dissipating post procedure without interfering with the rest of your plans for the day.

Additional risks can include allergic reaction, changes to breathing, numbness and tingling and dizziness. Our highly skilled nurse injectors are led by our Clinical Director and Nurse Practitioner with an advanced specialty in anesthesia ensure all necessary emergency protocols, medication and equipment are maintained and each medical provider is certified to administer comfort management protocols.

At Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness we are committed to helping you look and feel your best.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

If your scheduled treatment requires topical numbing cream, we will ask you to arrive 30-60 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time, in order for our A+ Team member to apply topical numbing cream for your specific to procedure to allow the numbing cream time to take effect. If oral pain medication is also part of your comfort management plan, we will administer that medication along with an anti-nausea medication 30 minutes prior to the start of your treatment. Injectable numbing medication is a special mixture of lidocaine with an additional buffer to reduce any discomfort from injectable lidocaine, while also minimizing visible bruising. Inhalation of Pro-Nox® is initiated once you are seated or laying comfortably prior to the start of your procedure.

Our advanced medical provider will instruct you to take 5 slow, deep breaths through the breathing apparatus. It’s helpful if you pause for 3 seconds at the top of your breath prior to exhaling through the breathing apparatus. There is a scavenging tube to direct the exhaled gas away from you and your provider. You will begin to feel more at ease and may notice a change to your voice as the nitrous oxide takes effect. When the procedure is finished, the nitrous is simply turned off and typically you feel like your normal self within 5 -10 minutes. All of our comfort measures make for an extremely elevated experience.
