Emily born and raised in New Mexico, daughter of a Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon and Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner, she grew up between the Operating Waiting Room at her father’s hospital and assisting her mother on Moonlighting at her private practice.
She has been a driving force for over 20 years as an entrepreneur, executive, and consultant within the Medical Spa + Hospitality industry.
Her passion for the spa + wellness industry spoke to her on a rare weekend visitingTen Thousands Waves, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a Japanese Onsen Style Spa with her mother and younger sister.
She saw how hard her parents worked to take care of others and she realized who takes care of them? With strong business acumen and no desire to be a provider, she honed on learning everything she could about the spa + wellness industry.
She left home for bigger adventures and dreams. She attended the University of Denver, receiving her undergraduate degree in International Business + Economics. During her undergraduate years she received an Americorps scholarship and eventually worked at the University of Denver, Service Learning Program and Denver Public Schools to recruit University Students to volunteer their time (while receiving service learning credits) for two Middle School Groups of Children. Mostly ESL, underprivileged and teens with anger issues. She passed the torch to an undergraduate, while she elevated further.
She received her MBA from the University of Denver with a focus in Entrepreneurship + Innovation. During these busy years, she still committed her time to helping others, running a Children’s Group Program at the Denver Safehouse.
Spending her formative years being groomed as a high achiever, Emily found opportunities to work as a Spa Consultant to Hoteliers, gained Franchise experience and International Marketing representing three international hair care lines communicating with over fifty-three different countries a day
Her experience propelled her into consulting for boutique hotels, medical spas, holistic spas, and fitness + wellness centers across the country.
She also serves as a Global Spa Consultant with Guidepoint Consulting, International Wellness Consortium comprised of valued business executives, renowned leaders and verified subject-matter experts that span industries, disciplines and with expertise across sectors and geographies. She also serves as Strategic Consultant for Atheneum Global Consulting.
Emily has an extensive list of major contributions to the spa + wellness industry including, pre-opening, strategic branding + marketing, operational efficiencies, organizational development, team development, programming, vendor negotiations and finance.
As the General Manager of Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness, Emily is involved in all aspects of the brand and business. She is the operational leader of our talented team, drawing from a vast reservoir of field experience, with a “lead by example” philosophy. She has a passion and proven track record for creating a culture of excellence with a personal commitment to making a business world-class.
When not creating and editing excel spreadsheets, Emily finds time to center herself at weekly Yoga and Pilates classes. She loves to entertain, dining, live comedy, live music and loves to try anything new. She also Travel Writes for boutique hotels, spas, destination experiences and dining. She is also an avid snowboarder. Emily’s life essentials include bubbly water, tea (all kinds), and turquoise cowboy boots.
