If it's your first time with us, we will begin with a thorough consultation, review of your medical and aesthetic history, and discussion regarding your expectations and goals with your ultherapy treatment. On the day of your procedure be sure to drink plenty of water and eat a light meal prior to your appointment. If you choose the addition of oral pain medication we will need you to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of your treatment so the medication has time to take effect.
When we are ready to begin we will have you comfortably seated and layer back in our treatment chair. Your treatment areas will be mapped out with a removable white pencil. The ultrasound energy is delivered with a hand piece connected to a device. Ultrasound gel is used to conduct the ultrasound image to the device screen, allowing for a precise and individually customized treatment tailored to your specific skin depths.
Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being delivered and the addition of Nitrous anesthetic gas and oral pain medication help greatly if you choose. There is no downtime after the treatment, and you can resume their regular activities immediately. You may feel sore over your temples and around your jawline for 4-6 weeks.
This is expected and will resolve as the regeneration process heals the inflammation. Some people see immediate results from the initial tissue contraction caused by the treatment.
